Fun Finds of the Day!

So, I am driving to work this morning. I tell myself, if you see a yard sale sign you should stop. This is a gut feeling. So I'm almost to work and what do I see....yes, a yard sale sign. I drive down to a house that is in an alley, and I'm thinking, really, should I stop? Yes. So I get out of my jeep and there is not a soul in sight. I look around, and my eye catches these 2 old wood boxes. I love old wood boxes. I start getting excited. Then I spy this metal stand with 3 old lanterns hanging from it. Oh, boy, I can't hardly stand it. Then I see a One Way sign, and I'm over the moon. So now I have 5 minutes to buy this stuff and get to work. There is nobody around. I knock on the door. No answer. I think, ....., and I don't want to leave because I have these wonderful treasures! I knock again, and cars are starting to pull in. Finally the door opens and here is one of my students. She just looks at me and I start laughing. Anyway, the man of the house walks up, and it is obvious that I have just woke him up. I apologized, but told him there were more shoppers arriving. I pay for my treasures and I am giggling all the way to work. I tell my teacher friends about my new found goods and they just look at me. I email my sister and tell her because I know she will share in my excitement. Yes, she mails back and says she can't wait to see what I found. Thank goodness for sisters! I have the best!!
