Sachets

My closet was recently remodeled and so I wanted to add the perfect finishing touch. I made 2 sachets using collaged materials and embellishments and then I added a wee bit of a soft fragrance. Now it looks and smells so sweet.

Pencil Pouch

Here is an idea for a quick gift. Take a piece of scrapbook paper, fold it in half and sew around the bottom and the edge of the paper. Punch two holes in the top, add some twine or ribbon and you have a sweet little pouch. I filled this one with decorative pencils. I added a little tag, and I had a simple but thoughtful gift.

Art Travel Case

I made this case for one of my students. Kylie's class were drawing self portraits and when I saw hers I thought it was so cute. I traced her picture onto fabric, hand painted it with acrylic paints, embroidered the finished picture, added some fabric to the sides and sewed it onto canvas. The middle pocket holds a spiral notebook and some art supplies. The back pocket has sharpie markers and a few other art supplies.

Sewing Jar

This was a snack jar that was a freebie from school. I thought it was cute, but I wasn't sure how I wanted to use it. Then one day I was buying a box of art supplies at a tag sale and when I went to pay for my goods the lady having the sale gave me a sewing box that was pretty beat up but had nice supplies inside. I got home and found all the sewing supplies fit into the snack jars. I exchanged the snack tag with a pretty ceramic tag and so I actually paid nothing for my jar. It was a lucky day.
