Project Bags
Today I made a couple of project bags. They contain a needlework project, an embroidery hoop and a needle and embroidery thread packet. I love the little packets. I took pretty card stock and folded it like a matchbook. I sewed a picture on the cover and then I sewed a bit of needlework on the inside. That is where the needles are kept. Next I glued the needle holder onto a cardboard packet that holds the embroidery thread. Pretty cute! I added a pair of scissors and put it all in the project bag. Oh, on the cover of the bag I added a clear pocket that holds a picture of the project inside. I think these would make a great gift or nice to take when you travel.

Take 5
I am taking 5 minutes a day to make something new from my list of projects and ideas. Today I made some regular band-aides look cuter by fusing some fun fabrics on them with Wonder Under. That just took a couple of minutes, so I gathered misc. paper and envelopes and made a little to-do book.
Here are pictures of my reorganizing in my art room at home. I put all of my current projects and the supplies to make them in my hope chest. I decided to cover the chest with the fabric collages my sister has given me. I just love it!

Oh Brother!
I have been cleaning my art room at home for 2 days! I am not even close to being done!! I could open a shop with all the stuff I have and I am trying so hard to organize everything. I am getting rid of things I don't think I will use and of course as soon as I do that I will start a project that uses the stuff I just threw away. Oh brother!! I like things to look pretty. It just makes me feel better when I am in the room. I sew, journal, paint, solder, stitch, quilt, and more. Here is where I began...my sewing section. I use a lot of old material, lace, buttons, etc. I keep all that in my Hoosier. Today I will post a pictures of how I began reorganizing this section.

Pay It Forward
I am known as The-Recycling-Queen at school. People I don't know bring me stuff for my classroom. Some of it is amazing and some of it is not so amazing, but I am grateful and always try to use it. If I can't use something I try to pass it on to someone who can. I was given a bunch of crochet and knitting needles. I would love to know how to crochet because there are some beautiful things you can make, but I am not going to learn while I have so many other projects I want and know how to do right now. To the point....one of my best friend's daughter loves to crochet. I thought it would be fun to make her a bag and fill it full of items used for crocheting and knitting. Everything I used I had in my art room at home, even the cute magazine, which has fantastic ideas and patterns in it.

Jewelry or Sewing Box?!
I found this jewelry box at a tag sale and I thought I would dress it up a bit. I made a fabric collage piece to cover the top, and I added a bit of fabric collage to the inside. I put jewelry inside and thought it was cute. Then I looked at it again and decided it would make a great sewing box instead. What possibilities!

A New Batch Of Journals
I made a new batch of journals; some to use and others to sell. I started journaling some years ago. I don't use the journals as diaries, but more to save memories. I take pictures when I travel and reduce them in size for my pages. I write down who I am with and what we did. I keep quotes and ideas on the pages. I usually have a medium sized journal that I write in for an entire year. This year my journal is a fabric covered notebook. I can add pages that I have painted or sewn on. I actually prefer the smaller journals, but I will finish the one I have started for the year.
Below are samples of the journals I keep. They all hold memories and times I can look back on.
